The district Kaiwera is named after the freshwater water food abundantly gathered by the early Maori and where anglers of all experience can fish in the many rivers and streams in the area. The wider district Pukerau is aptly named after the many hills which dominate the landscape and gives unique beauty to the area. Only an hour drive from the picturesque Catlin coast and Invercargill and 2hr drive to both Te Anau and Queenstown. |
